Sense of Hearing

This week we continued our experiments using our five senses by learning about our sense of hearing. We discussed how our ears take in sounds and send the information to our brain and we then are told what we are hearing.

For our experiment, we were introduced to the sound paddles! First we listened to an animal sound without seeing the picture of it. This made sure that we could only use our sense of hearing to identify the animal. After listening to the sound, we would draw a picture of the animal we think we heard on a sound paddle. Then as a class we would all hold them up to reveal what we thought the animal was. We even wrote down the beginning sound of the animal to practice isolating the beginning sounds of words!

I loved seeing all of the different drawings of the same animal. The individual interpretations were priceless!
