Seuss Day!

To honor Dr. Seuss's birthday, we spent a week doing an author study to learn more about his style of writing.  We noticed that he loved to use made up words, and almost always rhymed!  At the end of the week, we celebrated Seuss Day!

To go with One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish, we graphed different colored fish.

We also practiced our subtraction from ten using fish manipulatives and and a fish bowl.

We played Memory using rhyming pictures.

To go with the Cat in the Hat, we created our own cat portraits!  We then hung our work in the hall!

We also created our own Wockets to go in our pockets!

Finally, we enjoyed a special snack of green eggs!  We even added a little "Seuss salt" for extra flavor!

We love Dr. Seuss!
