Help us buy a cow!

In the spirit of giving this holiday season, our class will be conducting a fundraiser beginning next Monday, December 12 - Friday, December 16.  From 7:45 - 8:45am, we will be selling bagels, cream cheese and juice in the front hall across from the gym doors.  As this is Exhibition Week, and a lot of parents will also be in the building, we hope this will be a HUGE success.

What will we do with the money raised?  We are buying a cow!  Yes, a real cow!  And as much as we would love to add a cow to the ever growing zoo in our classroom, we will not be keeping it.  All money will be donated in our classroom's name to an incredible non-profit organization called Oxfam America.  This group helps support the needs of families around the world by offering sustainable gifts of plants and animals!  As a class, we discussed ways that having plants and livestock can change the lives of those who do not have nearly as much as we do.  The kindergarteners have their little hearts set on purchasing a cow, and sending it to a family in Africa.  This cow will not only provide much needed milk and nutrition, but also a source of income as the family will be able to sell the milk or milk products they make.

How can your family help?  Please join us next week for the fundraiser, and purchase freshly baked bagels, cream cheese and juice.  Let's make this event a success!
