Firefighter Shane

For Fire Safety Week, Firefighter Shane visited Lighthouse Village!  Some of the things that he talked to the children about included smoke detectors, safe meeting places outside of your house, things that can burn you, stop drop and roll, crawling under smoke and the different parts of a firefighter's uniform.

Here we are practicing cover our face and rolling in case our clothes are on fire.

Here is Ms. Woolsey as she tries on all the different parts of the uniform.  Starting with the boots pants and coat...

and the gloves, mask and helmet.

We even practiced staying low to the ground in case there is smoke.

Finally, we practiced dialing 911 on old phones.

We learned so much today about fire safety!  Thank you, Firefighter Shane!
