Mrs. Chisolm Visits

Over the next 2 weeks, I have invited next years 2nd grade teachers into our classroom so that the children can become familiar with them.  As our class will be split up between 4 classrooms next year, I wanted the children to be comfortable with whichever teacher they will have next year.

Our first guest teacher was Mrs. Chisolm!  She began by telling the kids a little about herself.  We learned that she has a daughter that will be in kindergarten next year and that she has been teaching 3rd grade for a few years and is very excited to be in 2nd grade next year!  We also learned that she has an outer space theme in her classroom, including planets and a rocket ship hanging from her ceiling!  She also read her favorite book, Lilly Browne's Paintings

After the book, she answered questions about what it is like to be in 2nd grade and some things that she likes to do in her classroom.  The children did a wonderful job asking questions.  We have been practicing brainstorming things we are curious about learning in 2nd grade, so we asked about centers, recess, reading groups, writing and science!

Thanks, Mrs. Chisolm for visiting our classroom!
