The first graders have been invited to participate in a wonderful service learning project next week! One of our Harlan families currently works with an organization that collects and sends supplies to help the citizens of Kenya. We will first be watching a presentation on how we, as Harlan first graders, can help children in another country. Students will then be making custom soap for the children of Kenya in an effort to help improve hygiene and reduce the spread of disease.
Below is
the sign-up genius for the materials that we would like donated. Additionally, each
classroom will be looking for 10 parent volunteers on June 4th from 10:15-11:45.
Some of the items are a little unusual so please don't hesitate to
contact me for additional clarification.
Plastic Toy Examples: These toys must be small enough to fit
inside a 2 inch soap ball.
