Patterns, Patterns and more Patterns!

We have been learning all about patterns in our math workshop!  We have not only been creating patterns, but extending and naming them as well.  We have been focusing on AB, ABB and ABC patterns this week.

Here we are using different manipulatives to create different patterns including cubes, links and even fruit loops!  We are going to hang our cereal ABC patterns in the trees on the playground for the birds to eat.  Another great game to play in the car is Guess the Pattern!  You could ask your kindergartener to give you an AB, ABB or ABC pattern, or give them a pattern and ask them what kind it is.  We have been learning that patterns can be different colors, shapes, pictures, objects, animals, letters, numbers or even sizes!
