It's All in the Name!

This week we learned about new reading strategy buddy, Skip It Frog! Skip It teaches us to try all of the strategies we've learned and if none of them work to "skip" the word and read to the end of the sentence and hop back and try again.

After meeting Skip It, we decided to give our new classroom pets names! Since we have new eight frogs, the kindergarteners were put into pairs and each pair got to name one of the frogs. We have four girls and four boys. Here is what the kindergarteners came up. 

I couldn't have come up with some of those names even if I tried! The kindergartners were nice enough to let me name the last frog, which I named Harlan. It sounds so boring compared to the rest of those creative names!
