Our New Friend!

Last Wednesday, our class welcomed a new 1st grader!   I would like to introduce our new friend, Mya!  Mya is 6 years old and she says that her favorite thing in her new school are all the animals in our classroom!  I want to thank all the children for making her feel so welcome these past few days.  Each student has gone out of their way to teach her new center activities, take her on a tour of the room, explain the lunch line and anything else that most of us have been doing for almost 2 years together!  It was wonderful to see how excited and proud they were of their classroom and school, and how much they wanted to share that excitement with Mya!

Mya was also chosen as this week's Shining Light.  She was chosen because of how brave she has been as she started a new school.  She walked into our classroom with a smile, and has not stopped smiling since!  Congratulations, Mya!
