Shining Lights

Last week our class chose Antoneyo as our Shining Light!  He was chosen because of how hard he has been working in his guided reading group.  His love of reading is truly infectious towards those around him!  Great work, Antoneyo!

This week we chose Rachel as our Shining Light!  Rachel has been a great kindergarten leader to her peers!  She consistently makes good choices, follows directions and tries her best at everything she does.  Rachel has also excelled in writer's workshop, inspiring those around her to keep working hard!
Awesome job, Rachel!

More Harvest Fun!

In the morning, we joined Ms. Demsky's 1st graders for an egg race!

In the afternoon, our whole school walked in a costume parade and trick or treated around the building!

Right after the parade, our neighbors, the Henry Ford Health System, invited us over to trick or treat in their offices!  We were given so many treats, that we needed bigger bags!

At the end of the day, we had a blast trying to eat donuts without using our hands!  Thank you to all the parents that helped us with this!  Who knew the strings would keep breaking!

Mr. Curran and I give the day two thumbs up!

Happy (belated) Harvest from all the teachers at UPA!

Harvest Festival Fun!

Now that my camera is working again, I wanted to share some great pictures from our Harvest Festival!  We had such a great time and the children looked great in their costumes!

In the morning, we learned all about the letter Pp!  We celebrated the letter by painting pumpkins!

We also had a harvest-themed snack with oranges, apples, pretzels, cider, and grapes!  It was healthy and included all of our favorite fall colors!
