Raz Kids Update

Hello Second Grade (!!!) Families!

I hope your summer has started off on the right foot!  :)

I spent my first week at my family's cottage relaxing and trying to get Ernie into the lake!  When the water was calm, I think he saw it as his own gigantic water dish, but as soon as one boat drove by and the water started moving he ran yelping back to the house!  What a big baby!  Hopefully I will get a picture of him in the water soon...

I wanted to let you all know that I am available for any questions you might have regarding RazKids or Compass Learning.  Speaking of RazKids, I updated all of the children's accounts to reflect their end of the year levels.  I have also adjusted the book room to allow them to read 2 levels below and 2 levels above their new assignment.  If your child seems to running out of books, please let me know, and I will add more to their book room.

To access your child's account, please follow the below link and use the teacher name:  mrkefgen

https://www.raz-kids.com/main/Login

Your child's password is their last name and their birthday (month and day) in numbers.  For example, my birthday is May 27, so my password would be kefgen527.  You do not need to use any zeros in the months.

I can't say enough great things about RazKids!  It is an amazing way for your child to read books at their own level and take the comprehension quizzes at the end.  This is an excellent tool for them to use as practice and to help prevent summer slide.

Please let me know if you have any questions or are having trouble logging on.

I miss everyone already and can't wait to see them in the fall!

Missing Fish from Art Class

A note from Mr. Fackler:

Hi Parents,

Students recently brought home clay fish from art class, However, a student accidentally took home a fish from another classroom. I apologize for the inconvenience, but could you please check that your child’s name is on the back of their fish? It may also have initials on the back. Your child’s fish may be one that is leftover and still here at school. You can contact me if you think you have it, The other child really appreciates it!

Thank you!
Mr,. Fackler

Field Day is Tomorrow

Hello Parents-

Tomorrow is field day!! The events will be held between 9:30-11:15 on the playground and blacktop area. Please remember the following...

  • All parents need to sign in at the front of the building before joining the students on the playground.
  • Your child received a red water bottle this morning. We will wash the bottle in school and fill them up in our classroom tomorrow morning. There is no need to send in additional water bottles.
  • If your child needs to wear sunblock please apply it before school. We are beginning right at 9:30 so applying it before school should be sufficient.
  • Please make sure your child is dressed for athletic events. Tennis shoes are a must! Please also wear your green class shirt.
  • If your child might need a pep-talk about good sportsmanship and a good loosing attitude please remind him/her of your expectations.
Go Huskies!!!
